ARRIVAL, CHECK-IN, REGISTRATION AND WEIGH-IN:

From Thursday, June 17th until Saturday, June 19th at Noon

TRANSPORTATION FROM THE AIRPORT TO ESTEPONA CITY

Bus Transfers from Malaga International Airport (AGP) to Estepona City will depart from Thursday evening till Friday afternoon. The official schedule for buses will be available 5 months prior to the event. The airport is a 45 minutes drive from Estepona City.

WELCOME BEACH PARTY:

The welcome reception party will be held on Friday, 18th of June at 9:30 p.m. on the beach of “La Escollera” in Estepona harbour. Address: Calle Puerto Pesquero. (5 minutes walk from the bullring)

Competitors, BC & Officials will receive IKO Pass.

REFEREES MEETING:

Saturday, 19th June at 10:00 a.m.

The meeting will be held in the Bullring on the Central Shobu (Match) Area

INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE

Sunday, 20th 10:30 a.m. till 13:30 p.m.

DAN EXAMINATION TEST

The Dan Test will be held on Tuesday, June 22nd. at 8:00 p.m. in venue to be decided

COMPETITORS:

1.     Fighters for should be a minimum of 18 years of age; and at least 4th Kyu.

2.     Fighters should present a medical certificate at the weigh-in. The medical certificate should include health check, HIV test, Hepatitis B&C test and medical declaration that approve participating in full contact fighting.

3.     Fighters are responsible for being ready on time for each bout.

4.     All competitors must provide information and registration requests through your area Branch Chief or Country Representative.

5.     Only official Branch Chiefs can enter requests of enrolment in the Karate World Cup.

bullet Women may only use soft types of breast protectors
bullet Fighters must fight in white Dogi
bullet Karate Dogi only: Men must not wear T-Shirt under Dogi

RULES:

The rules will be according to Spanish tournament rules. Please note that, as in the next European Championships in Italy, the heavyweight division will be open for Light and middleweight competitors who wish to enter this division and is compulsory for those weighing more than 80 kg.

COMPETITORS ENROLMENT PERIOD & DEADLINE:

The enrolment for the world cup starts on the December 1st , 2009.

The deadline for enrolments is on Sunday: April 18th. , 2010

VISA:

The Spanish organisation will assist the countries that need visa for entering Spain.

Countries requiring visas should contact the Spanish Embassy or Consulate in your home country for information and VISA application procedure.

Please apply for VISA in time. For countries which need official invitation for registration of VISA: All participants (competitors, officials and supporters) must deport:

1.     Surname,

2.     Name,

3.     Sex,

4.     Date of Birth,

5.     Passport NO,

6.     A copy of the passport

7.     Previous relevant travelling history

BEFORE February 15th

Consequently it is recommendable for those organisations that need visa to enter Spain to have selected your team by the end of January 2010.

COMPETITORS’ ENROLMENT FEE

There will be 2 categories of Enrolment:

1.     Low Cost Enrolment Fee:  110 Euros

The low cost enrolment fee includes 3 night’s accommodation with full board (stating with the welcome party, Friday evening and ending with Breakfast on Monday), the welcome beach party, the Sayonara Party and the transportation from and to airport in the official bus schedule.

2.     Official Enrolment Fee:     270 Euros

The enrolment in the official hotel (Please see underneath under Accommodations) includes 3 night’s accommodation with full board (stating with the welcome party, Friday evening, Breakfast and lunch in buffet restaurant besides the pool with show cooking. Ending with Breakfast on Monday), the welcome beach party, the Sayonara Party and the transportation from and to airport in the official bus schedule.

OFFICIALS AND REFEREES

Official IKO Branch Chiefs, Country Representatives and Referees can also choose to attend the World Cup disbursing either:

u   IKO Matsushima Officials Low Cost Attendance Package Fee of 110 Euros

u   Or by registration in the official hotel by 270 Euros

Under the same conditions as the fighters.

ACCOMMODATIONS:

The low cost accommodations will be done in local hotels and hostels. The designated hotel will be informed 1 month before the world cup.

H10 Estepona Plaza Hotel is chosen as IKO Matsushima’s 3rd World Cup’s official hotel.

SUPPORTERS AND FANS

The Spanish Organisation will gladly help supporters and spectators recommended by IKO Officials, in finding accommodations according to their needs and schedule.

Strict cancellation policy will apply to Hotel reservations.

SAYONARA PARTY:

Sunday 20th of June 30 minutes after tournament closure in the Bullring. Competitors, BC & Officials will receive IKO Pass.

WORLD CUP CAMP:

From Monday 21st and till Tuesday 22nd of June

Bus leaves for Camp venue at 10:00am on Monday morning. Camp ends on Tuesday at 6:30pm. Camp is Open to all members of IKO Matsushima. Please see programme underneath.
