CATEGORIES: There will be Adults (Men and Women) Juniors and Children categories. The tournament will be open to men and women. 

The entry fee is $20.00
It will be prices for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.
All the tournament will be held under the Knock down rules of Kyokushinkai according to the official IKO regulations.

CHAMPIONSHIPS RULES

Championship elimination system:

       The championships will be held with eliminatory rounds in which the winner of each match only will qualify to the next round.

Match Area, Match Officials and Competitors:

The match area consist of soft tatami mats in a square build up. In each corner a corner Judge will be seated with two flags (one white and one red) and inside the the match area a head referee is in charge of the match and the fighters.

The match time table will be situated only a few meters from the match area.

Rules:

The fighters must enter the match area bowing with loud “OSU”. Inside the area the fighters must greet the the officiall table, Shomen, hte head referee, Shushin and each other, Otogai. The duration of the bouts may vary in accordance to the type of tournaments (Junior and female etc.).

The competitors are allowed to knock down their opponents with the legal techniques: Strikes with the hands and elbows to the body (strikes to the head and throat are not permitted, all kicks (front kicks, roundhouse kicks, side kicks, downward kicks and spin kicks) are allowed to any part of the body besides the groin and back area.

All attacks towards the groin area are not permitted. In the female bouts the attack towards the chest area are not allowed. Attacks with the hands and elbows to the face are not allowed. All straight techniques to the joints are not permitted. Pushing and grapping are also illegal techniques. All gestures as spitting or talking during the bout is not permitted.

The set of rules for fighters and match officials are the same as the international rules for IKO Matsushima Kyokushinkaikan.

The IKO Matsushima Chile organisation has the honour and pleasure to invite you and your students to the IKO Matsushima’s 2nd South American Open Kyokushin Karate Tournament, to be held on the 18th and 19th of February 2012 in the Municipal Gymnasium of the city of Penco, Concepción, Chile. 

It is our pleasure to announce that the international president, Kancho Yoshikazu Matsushima and International Secretary Mrs. Mikiko Matsushima, The Danish Branch Chief and European regional Chairman, Shihan Klaus Rex, and Canadian Branch Chief and North American regional Chairman, Roman Szyrajev.

The Chilean Organisation will cover all costs on the 18th 19th 20th 21th of February; this includes accommodations and 3 meals a day to all Competitors, Coaches and Branch Chiefs

In this edition we will dispute the Kancho Yoshikazu Matsushima Cup

All the tournament will be held under the Knock down rules of Kyokushinkai according to the official IKO regulations.
