The
divisions are as follows:
- Children’s divisions is 3 years to 15 years old
- Junior Black Belts: 10 & under, 11-13, and 14-17 yrs
- Adults is 16 years and over
- Women’s Senior is 30 years and over
- Men’s Senior division is 30 and over
Note:
The
tournament director reserves the right to unite divisions or divide them
according to events.
Equipment:
All competitors must wear WTF approved dobuk and safety equipment.
The sparring competitors are responsible for the following MANDATORY
equipment:
- Headgear and chest protector
- Forearm guard and shin guard (Instep guard optional)
- Groin protector
- Mouth guard
**NO SPARRING EQUIPMENT WILL BE PROVIDED**
The competitor is responsible to provide ALL equipment.

| COMPETITOR ENTRY FEES |
Entry Fees MUST accompany the registration package.
• Early registration on or before May 13, 2008, please see
individual competitors application forms for entry fees.
• $10.00 late fee for applications received between
May 14, 2008 and May 23, 2008. No exceptions.
• No personal cheques accepted, must be a club cheque
or money order payable to “2008 Manitoba Open Tae
Kwon Do Championships”.
• All registration forms received without payment will
be returned.

Kyorugi & Poomse
Early Registration: (Before May 13th, 2008)
$55.00 (Fifty five Canadian Dollars) for 1 Event or
$65.00 (Sixty five Canadian Dollars) for both events
Late Registration: (May 14th to 23rd, 2008)
$80.00 (Eighty Canadian Dollars) for 1 Event or
$90.00 (Ninety Canadian Dollars) for both events.
Color Belts Competition:

| REGISTRATION |
All participants must
All participants must be pre-registered. There will be no
registrations accepted after 5:00 pm on May 23rd, 2008, regardless of
postmarked date.
Mail all registrations to Iron Fist Tae Kwon Do.

WEIGH IN |
Olympic weight divisions:
All sparring competitors MUST weigh-in Thursday from 6:30pm to 8:00 p.m.
at Iron Fist OR Friday from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm at Radisson Skyview.
You will be disqualified if you do not weigh-in.

| COMPETITION RULES |
Current WTF Competition Rules with the exception of no face kicks
allowed in the following divisions:
- All Color Belts

Junior Black Belts 13 years old and under
Type
of Competition:
- Single Elimination for color belts
- Double Elimination for all Black Belts and Junior Black Belts 11 yrs
and over.
- Junior Black Belts 15-17 yrs old may compete as both Junior and
Senior.
Scoring:
Ringmaster scoring systems of PATU with monitor displays
Matches:
Ring and match numbers will be posted. A book of draws will be issued to
each registered club (one per club).
Match Duration:
- Junior &
Senior – Colored Belts:
2 rounds, 1 minute, 30 second rest between
rounds

Junior – Black Belts, 11 years & Over:
2 rounds, 2 minutes, 30 second rest between
rounds

Senior – Black Belts:
3 rounds, 2 minutes, 30 second rest between
rounds.

| RESTRICTED AREA |
Access to the competition area is restricted to:
a) Officiating Referees
b) Competing Athlete
c) 1 Coach per Competitor

| PROTEST |
For Black Belt Matches Only:
A written report of the protested match must be prepared by the coach
and submitted to the Arbitration Board within 5 minutes of the end of
the match, with a protest fee of $100.00 in cash. |
| AWARDS |
Medals/Trophies for all divisions
Awards presentation will be made at the completion of each division

Concessions in the building will be open

| OTHERS SERVICES |
For
the competitors will be available:
- Massage Therapy
- Equipment and Souvenirs will be on sale in the gym

| OUT OF PROVINCE COMPETITORS |
If you forward your flight schedules before
May 1, 2008 the organizers will arrange complimentary transportation

transportation from hotel and venue.
