MANITOBA'S DOMINIQUE BOSSHART SURGE AGAIN AS CANADA HOPES FOR THE
2004 OLYMPIC GAMES

 

    Born in Morges, Switzerland on 1978 and immigrated to Canada (Landmark, Manitoba) in 1981, when she was 3 years old. Her first school of Taekwondo was located in Lorette a branch of Winnipeg Kang's Taekwondo Academy. Her first coach was Grandmaster Joo Won Kang founder of the school. Her brother push her into Taekwondo when she was only 12 years old. Since that time she got in love with Taekwondo and decided that it  would be the sport for her.
    Her accomplishment during her Taekwondo Career has been spectacular. Some of her accomplishment are listed below :

  1. Eleven National Titles. She has not lost a National Championships since   she first entered in 1993, when she was only 15 years old.

  2. Three International bronze medals (Pan American Games in Mar del Plata, Argentina in 1995, Cuba in 1996, Peru in 1998).

  3. Finished in the Top eight at the : 4th Women's World Taekwondo Championships organized in New York, USA in 1993. 5th  Women's World Taekwondo Championships organized in Manila, Philippines in 1995. 6th Women's World Taekwondo Championships organized in Hong Kong in 1997.

  4. Gold medal at the 1999 Olympic Carding event organized in Toronto on April, 1999.

  5. Silver medal at the 7th Women's World Taekwondo Championships organized in Edmonton, Canada on June, 1999.

  6. Bronze medal at the Pan American Games in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada on August, 1999.

  7. Gold medal at the Pan-Am Games 2000 held in Aruba.
  8. Bronze medal at the 2000 Summer Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia, on September, 2000.
  9. Bronze medal at the Pan American Olympic qualifying trials, February 2004.

 

    Dominique Bosshart competes in the Heavyweight category. She is a very aggressive and relatively fast fighter who likes the excitement of competing. According to her she is more successful attacking rather than counter-attacking.
    Dominique Bosshart is a nationally carded
Sr-1 Athlete. Her next challenge will be the Olympic Games in Athens, Greece, on August 13-29, 2004. Dominique Bosshart, already  classified for the 2004 Olympic Games and it will be her second time she will represent Canada at the Olympic Games.    
    Dominique Bosshart believes that with all of her hard work done during the last twelve years, there is a great chance again for her to come home with a medal.
    I wish her again all the best and thank her for being such a good example of dedication and perseverance to the young Martial Artist. I also thank her for representing our city so well and taking it to International Levels.

   

WINNIPEG IS GOING TO THE 2004 OLYMPIC GAMES!!!

CONGRATULATIONS TO DOMINIQUE BOSSHART SHE IS THE ONLY  CANADIAN UNTIL NOW WHO QUALIFIED FOR THE 2004 OLYMPIC GAMES. SHE WON A BRONCE MEDAL ON THE PAN AMERICAN TAEKWONDO ON FEBRUARY, 2004
